    harrylbarker –

    A fascinating and reasonably detailed account of early diesels. I found the shunter section particularly interesting. With No 10800 being built by North British in Glasgow, and their subsequent appalling record of reliability of designs produced for the Modernisation Plan of 1955, it is a wonder somebody somewhere did not appreciate that potential future North British designs were likely to be similarly afflicted.
