To the followers of the Great Western finding images of rolling stock in colour is not easy. All too often the main focus of the photograph has been the engine, the station or the whole train - although in the latter case fortune sometimes follows. In this new book, R C Riley's colour archive has been trawled to find both the best and the most interesting of his coverage of Great Western coaching stock; from the Super Saloons, to Restaurant Cars, the work of Messrs Hawksworth, Collett and Churchward and even a few example belonging to the years of William Dean. Captions are extensive and well-researched having been written by the Associate Editor of 'Western Times' Jeremy Clements.
